This 1969 Mopar Dart is a very nice driver level hot rod that sounds great, drives easily, and shifts exactly as it should. It is the perfect car for driving anywhere, anytime, whether heading to local car shows or just out for a cruise. The car comes with a very large portfolio of historical documents, receipts, and manuals covering its build and maintenance. Lots of high performance upgrades were professionally installed in the last two to four years, and it has been driven very little since the restoration, clocking less than 1,000 miles.
Exterior and Styling
The body is in very nice overall condition, sitting very straight with nice lines. The door gaps are very even, and both doors open and close exactly as designed. It is finished in a Black Metallic base coat and clear coat paint job, accented by a GTS rear trunk emblem and a rear White GT Sport tail stripe. As a driver level vehicle built to be enjoyed on the road, the paint does have some imperfections, scratches, cracks, touch ups, and paint chips. It rides on 15 inch Boyd Coddington polished chrome wheels wrapped in BFG Radial tires with approximately 90% tread life remaining. Underneath, the undercarriage is very presentable, having been fully restored and painted.
Interior and Comfort
Inside the cabin, you will find a newly reupholstered white vinyl interior with absolutely no rips or tears in the seats. The fresh look continues with a new headliner, sail panels, and package tray, all in very nice condition. The dashboard features a BNN floor shifter, a SunPro 8000 RPM tachometer, and SunPro white face under dash gauges. For cruising comfort, the car is equipped with a Vintage Air conditioning system that blows cold, along with a fully functional heater. The audio system has been heavily upgraded with a professionally installed Alpine Bluetooth CD player, a trunk mounted subwoofer, a Kicker amplifier, and 6×9 speakers mounted in the rear package tray.
Engine and Performance
Powering this classic Dart is a built 340 V8 engine fitted with an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor, an Edelbrock high-rise aluminum intake manifold, and Mopar chrome valve covers. The engine bay is highly detailed and features several polished and upgraded components:
Serpentine belt pulley system running a chrome alternator and a chrome air conditioning compressor.
Polished aluminum air cleaner and a polished overflow reservoir.
Custom aluminum radiator paired with electric cooling fans and an aluminum condenser.
MSD electronic distributor paired with an MSD blaster coil.
The exhaust breathes efficiently and produces a great sound through Hooker ceramic coated headers that flow into a custom exhaust system with dual chrome tips.
Drivetrain, Suspension, and Brakes
The built 340 V8 is backed by a TorqueFlite 727 3-speed automatic transmission featuring an electronic Gear Vendors overdrive, sending power to a robust Dana 8 3/4 rear axle. The driving experience is smooth and controlled thanks to power steering and a front anti-sway bar. Stopping power is handled effortlessly by power front disc brakes paired with a dual diaphragm brake booster.
